Mark P. Giordano

American Flag ColorNORTH CAROLINA & MAINE – Mark P. Giordano passed peacefully at his home in Pine Bluff, NC, Saturday, June 8, after a long battle with cancer. Mark was born 70 years ago, to Domonic and Nadine (Briggs) Giordano in Meriden, Conn.
He lived many years in Guilford, Sangerville and Dover-Foxcroft with his beloved wife, Mary and four children: daughter, Katrina Stavang of North Pole, Alaska; son, Mark Giordano, Jr. of Hampden, ME, and sons, Shawn and Darren Giordano, both of Pine Bluff, NC. He is survived by five grandchildren, one granddaughter, one brother, six sisters and a large extended family.
Mark proudly served as a medic in the United States Army and the National Guard. He put that knowledge to work in civilian life in New York, and as a Nursing Home administrator in Maine. He later served as a supervisor at Guilford Industries. He loved living in NC, and his work there as equipment supervisor for the Pine Hurst Golf Complex. Mark had been involved in Boys Scouts and loved camping and seasonal recreation. He spent many happy hours woodworking and creating an annual Halloween Masterpiece with his family. A hardworking man, Mark thoroughly enjoyed his rare opportunities to travel, and was happiest combining travel with his appreciation for the servicemen and women of World war II and Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Mark was a great dancer and found joy in the simple things in life. His special smile will be greatly missed by his extensive family and many friends around the country.
