GFWC/Miosac Club celebrates its 77th birthday

    DOVER-FOXCROFT — Sixteen members and one associate member met May 21 at “The Other Room” to celebrate 77 years of service as a Federated Club. Hostesses Vicki Moschella and Dot Finnemore  arranged the party and decorated the table  with real flowers that each one go to take home. Members enjoyed d’hourves as they visited with each other until dinner was served.

    President Betsey Ryan conducted a brief meeting before  dinner was served. She announced that the club received a $92.50 commission for the directory ads.
    Diane Leighton  passed out forms for directory ads, a summer activity  to raise money for the directory. Merchants will be contacted in the next months to renew their ads. The club appreciates their support. Ryan also noted that they received an award for Membership at the GFWC Maine Convention in May.
    Following dinner,  members sang “Happy Birthday” and Moschella and Finnemore cut and served the birthday cake.  In observance of the birthday, Moschella  entertained with a musical selection of “Young at Heart.”
    Games were played with winners receiving plants. A drawing for a door prize was won by Martha Rollins, associate member.
    A grand time was had by all. Club is recessed for the summer.
