VERNAL POOL EGG MASS

Madeline Lubas, technical coordinator of the Piscataquis County Soil and Water Conservation District was awarded third place in the Conservation 101 category of the Photo Contest in the State of Maine for the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Conservation Service.

This wood frog egg mass was briefly removed from a Piscataquis County vernal pool to teach workshop participants about the significance of vernal pool breeding habitat for amphibians.
