Eleanor Nora Turner

TURNER, Eleanor Nora, 87, of Dover-Foxcroft, April 11, 2013. A graveside service for family and friends at the family lot in Gray Cemetery, Dover-Foxcroft, will be held at a later date. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft.

    DOVER-FOXCROFT – Nora Turner, 87, died peacefully April 11, 2013, at Hibbard Nursing Home, Dover-Foxcroft, with her daughter, Thomasine and son-in-law, Ron Copeland, by her side. She was born March 14, 1926, in Bangor, the daughter of Irving and Edith (Littlefield) Emerson.
    Nora attended Sangerville schools. She was employed by Hathaway Shirt Co. and Dexter Shoe Co. Nora married Thomas J. Turner and together they had three children.
    She is survived by her daughters, Sherryl Martino and her husband, Anthony of Plymouth, MA, Thomasine Copeland and her husband, Ron, of Dover-Foxcroft, who were also her caregivers; and a son, Jeffrey A. Turner and his companion, Leslie H. Neville, both of Dexter; ten grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
    The family extends special thanks to Regina Donnelly, and Ed and Jo-Marie Copeland for their respite care, and to all the nurses and CNA’s at Hibbard Nursing Home, Community Health and Counseling Services, and Pine Tree Hospice.
    A graveside service for family and friends at the family lot in Gray Cemetery, Dover-Foxcroft, will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dover-Foxcroft United Methodist Church, PO Box 62, Dover-Foxcroft, ME 04426, or to the American Cancer Society, One Bowdoin Mill Island, Suite 300, Topsham ME 04086, or the Alzheimer’s Association, Maine Chapter, 170 Rt. 1, Suite 250, Falmouth 04105.
