Ward joins EMDC directors
BANGOR — Eastern Maine Development Corporation (EMDC) is pleased to announce the addition of six individuals to its board of directors and the appointment of one existing member to a leadership position. The new members and appointments were finalized at the corporation’s regular board meeting on March 28.
New members are Gail Kelly from Penobscot Community Health Care, David Milan from the City of Bucksport, Chuck Rohn from Darling’s Inc., Micki Sumpter from the City of Ellsworth, County Commissioner Eric Ward representing Piscataquis County and Elizabeth MacTaggart representing Sen. Angus King’s office. MacTaggart serves as a non-voting member of the board. Kelly previously served as a non-voting member representing former Sen. Olympia Snowe’s office.
Mark Woodward, a longtime board member, was named vice chair at the same meeting. He fills the vacancy created when former Vice Chair Tom Lizotte, of Dover-Foxcroft, moved into the chair position last fall.
EMDC is a private, non-profit organization established in 1967. The corporation is located in Bangor and serves Hancock, Penobscot and Piscataquis counties as well as portions of Waldo County. The service area covers nearly 11,000 square miles with a population of 256,891.
