Free ‘Caring for the Caregiver’ workshop
DOVER-FOXROFT — A workshop “Caring for the Caregiver” will be held Thursday, April 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Mayo Hospital Resource Center in Dover-Foxcroft. Lunch will be provided and registration is required.
The morning session “The Nuts and Bolts of Caregiving” will educate participants about hands-on techniques for more successful caregiving, for example, lifting techniques, use of gait belts, how to make an occupied bed and safe transfers.
The afternoon session “The Legal Aspects of Aging: What you need to know” will provide information that is important for people to know as they age. Powers of Attorney and Advanced Directives will be covered by Julie Mallett, Esq., attorney with Legal Services for the Elderly.
