FA LIGHTS IT UP BLUE FOR WORLD AUTISM AWARENESS DAY

Each April 2, the world celebrates “Light It Up Blue” in commemoration of the United Nations-sanctioned World Autism Awareness Day. Light It Up Blue is a global initiative that signals the beginning of Autism Awareness Month.

Many iconic landmarks, hotels, sporting venues, concert halls, museums, bridges and retail stores are lit up blue in honor of the day, and this year Foxcroft Academy, at the urging of Ed Tech Karen Libby, decided to show its support for this worthy cause. “We wanted to support the Maine Autism Society and support our own students, and this was a great turnout,” said Libby. “We’ll also be selling puzzle pieces and ribbons to raise money for Autism research, and we’ll be collecting pledges for the Autism Walk in Bangor on April 28.”
