RICKER, Valerie Jean “Susie”, 49, of Milo, March 6, 2013. A graveside service will be held in Evergreen Cemetery in the spring. Arrangements are in the care of Lary Funeral Home, Milo.

PO Valerie Ricker OB    MILO – Valerie Jean “Susie” Ricker, 49, wife of Gary M. Ricker, died March 6, 2013, at her residence, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born September 8, 1963, in Milo, the daughter of Lewis D. and Elaine B. (Brown) Weymouth.
    She graduated from Penquis High School, Class of 1982, and later earned a diploma in culinary arts. Susie cooked and delivered meals for Eastern Area Agency on Aging, and always made sure that the elderly people she served had something unique through all the special times of the year. She enjoyed photography, cooking, crocheting, and also volunteering for P.A.W.S. and with the Milo Recreation Department. Susie ran the ice cream parlor at the Piscataquis Valley Fair for many years. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
    She is survived by her husband, Gary; her mother, Elaine Blethen; a sister, Melanie Knaut; a brother, Howard Pond and his wife, Shirley; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her step-father, Richard Blethen; and a step-brother, Erik Blethen.
    Friends and family were invited to memorial visiting hours from 1-4 p.m., Sunday, March 10, 2013, at the Lary Funeral Home, Milo. A graveside service will be held in Evergreen Cemetery in the spring. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in Susie’s memory to the charity of your choice.
