Applications being accepted for Minnie Welts Bridge Memorial Scholarship

    PARKMAN — The Parkman Grange is now accepting applications for the 2013 Minnie Welts Bridge Memorial Scholarship. Application forms are available at the Parkman town office.
    Mrs. Minnie Bridge passed away at 102 years of age on Aug. 14, 2011. She was a lifelong resident of Parkman. Bridge was a retired school teacher, having taught in Parkman schools for 29 years. She was also a life member of the Parkman Grange. 

    The Parkman Grange has established the Minnie Welts Bridge Memorial Scholarship Fund to benefit deserving Parkman residents who have successfully completed at least one year at a legitimate institution of continuing education ( i.e. community college, technical school or four-year college or university) and will be continuing their education. The Grange will be awarding annually one or more $500 scholarships, funded through donations and a supper in Bridge’s name.
    The application deadline is Friday, May 31. Scholarship checks will be awarded on June 22 at the Parkman Grange supper to honor Bridge and her life long commitment to education.
