Piscataquis Community Elementary Schools sixth-graders hold up the banner SAD 4 earned in the Healthier U.S. Schools Challenge from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

PCES and Piscataquis Community Secondary School were recognized for their health, nutrition and fitness program’s excellence. Only 3 percent of schools nationally are recognized by the USDA of receiving either the gold, silver or bronze status. Both SAD 4 schools earned bronze status in the challenge and a $500 check.
