Sen. Thomas appointed to taxation committee

ne-thomasmug-dcX-po-2    AUGUSTA — State Sen. Doug Thomas(R-Ripley) has been appointed to the Maine Legislature’s Taxation Committee.

    Sen. Thomas served eight years on the Transportation Committee. He also served on the Labor Committee and was the Chair of the State and Local Government Committee during the 125th Legislature.

 

“My work on other committees should be valuable to the Taxation Committee,” Sen. Thomas said. “I also think this new assignment will help me better serve my constituents in District 27.”

    Sen. Thomas has been a small business owner for more than 35 years, and believes that experience will be very useful on the Taxation Committee. “Small businesses are the engine of Maine’s economy,” he said. “We need tax policies that help those businesses grow so they can provide the good jobs Maine needs.
