SFC (Retired) Daniel “Sonny” E. Connors

Connors, SFC (Retired) Daniel E. Connors, 80, of Milo, on December 19, 2012.

PO Daniel ConnorsAmerican Flag Color    Sonny went to be with the Lord on December 19, 2012. He was born on September 18, 1932, in Milo, Maine. He was the son of Guy and Estella (Stubbs) Connors and the husband of Patricia (Stone) Connors. He and Patricia were married on October 18, 1953 and had two sons, Daniel Connors II and Dwayne Connors, and a daughter, Darlene Connors, who passed shortly after birth.
Sonny retired after 20 years in the United States Army as a Sgt. First Class, instructed in radar and guided missile systems and electronics. He also worked as a carpenter and logger. Sonny was a “jack of all trades”, always tinkering on his own projects and helping friends and family with every thing from baking a pie to building a house. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, cooking, and very much enjoyed spending time with his family.
Sonny also had a very big heart. He was an active member in his community as well as the Sebec Village Community Christian Church. He was a volunteer on the Bowerbank Fire Dept., a member of the Bowerbank ATV club, a lifetime member of the NRA, a member of the American Legion in Milo, and regularly donated to several charities and bought Christmas gifts for needy children in the community. He was a very humble man and often helped people anonymously.
Sonny was predeceased by his parents, Guy and Estella (Stubbs) Connors; his sister, Anna Elizabeth “Betty” (Connors) Rogers; and his daughter, Darlene Connors.
Sonny will be greatly missed by his wife, Patricia (Stone) Connors; their two sons, Daniel Connors II and his wife, Cara of Sebec and Dwayne Connors and his wife, Toni of Pine Mountain, GA; four grandchildren, Amber Connors, Chase Connors, Justin Connors, and Laura Connors; and one great-grandson, Cody Chambers; his nephew, Scott Rogers and family; his nephew, Scott Gould; his dear friends, Robert Rolleston, Brent Slipp, and the Fariel family; the members of the Sebec Village Community Christian Church and its pastor, Rev. Bea Violette; his fellow firefighters on the Bowerbank Fire Dept.; and several other family members and friends.
The Connors Family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Mayo Regional Hospital and St. Joseph’s Hospital. The people involved in Sonny’s care were amazing – professional yet caring. Your kindness has been appreciated by the family.
Services were held at the Sebec Village Community Christian Church on Saturday, December 29 at 2 p.m.
