Northern Light Mayo Hospital announces fall flu shot clinics

DOVER-FOXCROFT — The upcoming flu season is shaping up to be severe, according to many health experts. Fortunately, vaccination can provide important protection against the disease. Northern Light Mayo Hospital is making it easy for children and adults to get vaccinated by holding weekly flu shot clinics in four communities during the month of October.

Patients and families are asked to call ahead for an appointment to avoid unnecessary wait times.

The clinics will begin on Oct. 3 and continue through Oct. 28:

Northern Light Primary Care, Corinth, Wednesdays 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Call 207-285-3435 for an appointment.

Northern Light Primary Care, Dover-Foxcroft, Tuesdays 1-4 p.m. Call 207-564-4464 for an appointment.

Northern Light Internal Medicine, Dexter, Thursdays 8 a.m. to noon. Call 207-924-5226 for an appointment.

Northern Light Primary Care, Milo, Fridays 8 a.m. to noon. Call 207-943-7752 for an appointment.

“Mayo Hospital encourages individuals and families to strongly consider vaccination. Getting a flu shot provides protection for you and could prevent you from spreading the flu to vulnerable friends and family members. In just a few minutes our friendly staff will get you vaccinated, and you will be on your way,” says David McDermott, MD, MPH, vice president of medical affairs and senior physician executive, Mayo Hospital.

Most insurance plans cover the cost of the flu vaccine. For more information about the clinics, please reach out to your local health center.
