Participate in candidates’ forum on Saturday

To the Editor;

At the Thompson Free Library in Dover-Foxcroft on Saturday, June 11, there will be a candidates’ forum from 9 a.m. to noon. This is a non-partisan event and it is not a debate but rather an opportunity to hear various candidates speak and answer questions, such as those for select board and school board. I have found these events to be useful when, as is usually the case, I am not familiar with all those who are running for office.

Unfortunately in the past, some candidates have chosen not to participate, and usually these have been Republican candidates. I have voted both Democratic and Republican in the past and value whatever opportunity I have to hear the candidates from both sides of the aisle. I urge those running for offices in this election to participate on June 11.
