Local adult grief support group starts soon

DOVER-FOXCROFT – Has the loss of a loved one been weighing you down? Whether it happened recently or in the past, the death of a significant person can be difficult to work through. Throughout one’s grief journey, how grief manifests itself varies in amount and intensity. Not only do we all experience grief differently, but we also process it in our own unique ways. Some people’s loneliness or sadness may appear to be more pronounced, while others may keep their thoughts and feelings of grief to themselves.

Pine Tree Hospice is here to help. Grief is a normal reaction to the death of someone important to you. It can be both powerful and painful; yet, when we pay attention to our grief and have support from others, experiencing grief can lead to healing and growth.

To support those who are grieving, Pine Tree Hospice has developed a 6-week closed adult grief support group. The group will meet each Monday from April 18 to May 23 from 1 to 2 p.m. and will be held at the Dover-Foxcroft Congregational Church located at 824 West Main Street. This group will allow for participants to share their grief journey, learn more about grief, and support each other. Trained bereavement facilitators will guide participants each week through exercises and prompts while ensuring a comfortable and safe space to explore grief.

Our facilitated group is open to adults in the community who are experiencing grief due to a death whether it be a spouse or significant other, parent, or another significant person. Please call 207-802-8078 or email info@pinetreehospice.org for more information or to register for this group.
