Kingsbury Plantation annual report recognized by MMA

AUGUSTA – Kingsbury Plantation has been recognized for a highest-quality Annual Report, during recent judging held at the Maine Municipal Association.

The under 500 population category winners were Cranberry Isles, Supreme; Charlotte, Superior; Kingsbury Plantation, Excellence.

MMA’s Annual Report Competition, which has been held for more than 50 years, recognizes municipalities for producing reports for their citizens that have excellent content, are well organized and visually appealing. More than 165 municipalities entered reports this year.

Judges for MMA rate the reports in five population categories: 5,000 and over; 2,500 to 4,999; 1,000 to 2,499; 500 to 999; and, under 500. Awards are named Supreme (first place), Superior (second place) and Excellence (third place) in each category.

Winning municipalities were notified by letter earlier this month. They will be recognized and the reports will be displayed at MMA’s Annual Convention, Sept. 30 and Oct. 1 at the Augusta Civic Center.

Winning municipalities will be mailed their framed certificates following the MMA Convention.

Founded in 1936, the MMA is a voluntary, non-partisan, member-service organization to which 484 municipalities in Maine belong. It has a core belief that local government is a fundamental component of a democratic system of government. MMA’s services include advocacy, education and information, professional legal and personnel advisory services, and self-funded group insurance programs.
