Mark Dunlop, 43, was taken into custody at his home early in the afternoon. He is charged with robbery and was transported to the Penobscot County Jail in Bangor. In an earlier release troopers said a young man armed with a handgun entered the store on Route 7 around 2:30 a.m. and demanded money. The woman clerk refused to hand over any cash and ran into the store’s office. That action scared off the robber and he fled on foot, likely on a nearby rail trail. The clerk was not injured.
