DOVER-FOXCROFT — The Center Theatre will be holding an online murder mystery party at 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 16. The party, set in the 1920s, centers around a death in prohibition Chicago and is called “Murder, Mayhem, and Moonshine.”

Patrick Myers, the Center Theatre executive director, is looking forward to another new event for the Center Theatre, “We’re trying out different online offerings while we’re closed to the public, we’ve been offering access to streaming movies, live theater, our Keep In Touch Campaign and now this murder mystery dinner party.”

Myers said the Theatre has hosted several themed parties in the past and so it seemed like a fun thing to try in the virtual world. “I think we’re all looking for some distractions at this point in time,” he said. “This way you can have something to do on a Saturday night. Get dressed up if you want, get some snacks and have some fun with some other folks in the community.”

Myers said the size of the party is limited to 20 people, so anyone interested is encouraged to register at as soon as possible. Registration is only $10 per person. Once registered, party-goers will receive more information on the party, their character, and information on how to join the party on line on the 16th. Myers said the Theatre is planning other online offerings and depending on how the summer goes, may consider some outside, drive-in style, performances.

The Center Theatre is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization with a mission to make arts, education and entertainment accessible to our rural communities to engage and inspire.
