DOVER-FOXCROFT — The General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC)/Miosac Club welcomed the New Year with a pot luck dinner. Several members braved the cold to gather at Thayer Parkway on Jan. 2.

Hostesses Diane Leighton and Elaine Larson welcomed all. Anne Cress offered grace before the meal of casseroles, soups, quiche, salads, cookies and cupcakes. Eve Bursey was welcomed as a new member.

During the meeting the Sebec Lake Ice Out Contest was discussed and members voted to continue with that project The High School Art Contest was also discussed and it was agreed to continue this as well.

Advisory Chairman Suzanne Raymond announced the Jan. 16 meeting was scheduled to have Dover-Foxcroft Police Chief Ryan Reardon speaking about identity theft. Pat Jones was program chairman and hostesses were Brenda Quiet and Rheba Michaud.
