Dover Cove Farmers announces Thanksgiving dinner raffle winner
DOVER-FOXCROFT — We have a winner! Melanie Baird, a local resident, will enjoy a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner that the Dover Cove Farmers Market raffled off as a conclusion to the summer market. She and her family visit the farmers market as often as they need fresh veggies and eggs, and feel that farmers markets are “vital to the community as well as the environment.”
The Dover Cove Farmers ended the summer market with a Thanksgiving Dinner raffle on Oct. 28. Baird was the lucky winner of the package which will include a turkey, homemade dinner rolls and a pie along with a variety of locally-produced vegetables. A big thank you goes out to all who visited the summer markets and purchased raffle tickets.
This year the Dover Cove Farmers will hold a winter market downstairs at the Thompson Library in Dover-Foxcroft starting on Saturday, Nov. 18. The market will be held on the first and third Saturdays of each month.
Are you a vendor, crafter, or artisan looking to expand your business? It just so happens that they are seeking such individuals as guest, part-time or even full-time vendors at the winter market. If this interests you please give Rose Rapp a call at 322-8368, because they would love to have you. She can also be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org.
When asked why vendors should participate, Rapp remarked that “it’s a great way to interact with the community.”
Gale Robinson of Leaves and Blooms Greenhouse calls it a “great way to promote your business.”
Both Rapp and Robinson agree that people should visit the market because it offers an excellent way “to support your local farmers and gain access to good food.” Be sure to stop by.
