On Monday, June 19 please join the Piscataquis County Economic Development Council (PCEDC) for our summer quarterly meeting at the newly completed Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC) Medawisla Lodge located northeast of Greenville.

PCEDC holds quarterly meetings throughout the county. The goal is covering topics relating to local businesses, non-profits and county residents. This month our guest speaker is Mike Wilson from the Northern Forest Center and Maine Woods Discovery.

Medawisla Lodge and Cabins, the newest destination in the AMC Wilderness Lodges network formally opens the beginning of July. We will hear from Dan Rinard about AMC and its newest property.

PCEDC will be the first group to tour Medawisla Lodge. It seems quite fitting that we kick off the summer with AMC and Wilson from the Northern Forest Center.

There will be coach bus service, leaving Dover-Foxcroft at 3:30 p.m. with a stop in Abbot at 3:45. While traveling on the bus, participants will be briefed on the conservation efforts of AMC by Steve Tatko.

The quarterly meeting starts at 4:30 and concludes at 7 p.m. There will be ample opportunity to tour the new facilities and enjoy the beauty of Second Roach Pond and the Roach River.

A sincere thank you to our dinner sponsor, Rowell’s Garage. For more information and to register, please contact Georgia Underwood at 564-3638.
