2017 Black Fly Festival set in Milo on Saturday

MILO — The Milo Events Committee invites the public to join a day of fun and festivities with the annual Black Fly Festival on Saturday, June 3. The theme this year is “Remembering the 50s.”

A parade will line up at 9:30 a.m. (near Maine Savings and JSI on Park Street) and will proceed at 10 a.m. toward downtown, ending at the Penquis Valley School. The day will feature over 45 vendors at the Veterans Memorial Park along the Sebec River.

From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. the Summit Project Honor display case will be at the Milo Town Hall; from 1-2:30 p.m. there will be live music by the Mainely Country Band at the gazebo; children’s activities run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; the Darling’s Ice Cream Truck will be on site from from noon to 2 p.m.; and the release of wish lanterns on the Sebec River is set for dusk.
