County Fund grants benefit theatre, hospice and PCEDC

DOVER-FOXCROFT — As part of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Piscataquis County Fund, the Piscataquis County Committee of the Maine Community Foundation awarded $5,000 grants to the Center Theatre, Pine Tree Hospice and Piscataquis County Economic Development Council.

“These organizations are doing outstanding work to improve the quality of life of people in Piscataquis County,” said Julie Mallet, chair of the Piscataquis County Committee. Maine Community Foundation President and CEO Steve Rowe was on hand to congratulate the grantees at a special event hosted by the Piscataquis County Committee and the community foundation on Sept. 21 at The Mill. More than 100 people gathered to celebrate the fund’s 30 years of grantmaking.

Established in 1986, the Piscataquis County Fund, a permanent charitable resource, has awarded $678,000 to more than 100 nonprofit organizations throughout the county. The Piscataquis County Fund is a part of MaineCF’s statewide Community Building Grant Program. To learn more, visit www.mainecf.org or call 1-877-700-6800.
